What does it mean to be a Phase 3 believer?
You are a committed believer and have spent significant time growing in your faith. You recognize you have a part to play in impacting others for Christ and want to be empowered to share your faith and serve in ministry! You are eager to become equipped for ministry work and encourage others in their growth journeys too.
“Then Jesus said to them, ‘Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men’” (Matthew 4:19).
In Human Development
Like a teenager, God is maturing you and calling you to take on more responsibility in ministering to others that are “younger” in the faith. He is challenging you to step out of your comfort zone and take risks for His Kingdom. You may experience setbacks and struggles, but you see how God uses trials to help you grow. You begin to understand that you can influence those around you in a positive or negative way.
In The Gospels
Jesus taught His disciples how to pray for people and how to serve others with humility and compassion. He trained them to rely on the power of the Holy Spirit. He empowered them to heal others and sent them out as teams to share the Good News about Jesus (Luke 9:1-2).
In Relationships
You desire to see people grow and experience the love of God like you have. You begin to notice those who may need encouragement or direction and you follow through on encouraging them with Scripture or with a testimony. You are seeking opportunities to join a ministry team in your local church and building relationships with other Christians who are actively serving. You are beginning to share your faith story with those who don’t know Jesus.
Growing in this Phase
In Phase 3, signs of growth include:
- Sharing the Good News about Jesus with others.
- Learning how to meet the needs of others in practical ways.
- Growing in your understanding of spiritual warfare and resisting the devil.
- Working to rely on the Holy Spirit in your life and ministry.
The demonstration of these life changes indicates that you are ready to move on to Phase 4a.
