Joseph Hobbs
Restoring Your Heart Leader and International Trainer
Stone Mountain, GA, U.S.
Gwendolyn and I celebrated thirty-five years of marriage in June 2015, and I am so grateful to share life with this beautiful and gifted woman! We have two children: Christopher (who has gone to be with the Lord), James, and one grandchild Christopher. In addition to being with my family, I enjoy Bible study, good food, old and new friends, watching movies, traveling, and discussing and participating in cultural events. We also like to attend live music performances and try interesting restaurants. Gwendolyn enjoys teaching a class about Jesus and the Kingdom of Heaven on Sunday mornings for K1 thru 7th graders.
As a member of WDA my primary responsibility is to encourage our spiritual vitality as a person and to lead us to grow in faithfulness to God’s call on our lives. In this position, I focus on several areas: sharing the Gospel, teaching, facilitating groups, training trainer, and consultant with churches and organizations. We give training to key staff within the church through Restoring Your Heart (one of WDA Ministries).
I am so thankful to be serving in a role where I get to see the Holy Spirit move in so many different circumstances and lives including my own; drawing us to Christ and making us look more and more like Jesus over time. What a gift to experience this while serving alongside others who are seeking to grow in Christ and further His Kingdom in the world. My specific role at WDA exists to identify, equip and encourage pastoral and ministry staff and lay leaders to further the vision and plan of Jesus, day-to-day, trusting God to bring growth and progress.
I have served full-time for more than seven years as a staff member of Worldwide Discipleship Association, serving with Restoring Your Heart, the International Ministry and the Church Ministry at Christ Community Church.
Our experience and research reveals that most spiritual leaders have a strong, sincere desire to shepherd and guide disciples to maturity. But unfortunately, few leaders have been equipped to accomplish the task of “presenting people mature in Christ.” WDA helps to address this training deficiency. We come alongside disciple builders providing perspective, support, training, healing (RYH), and resources. Matthew 28:18-20
To be ambassadors for Christ and to embody the ministry of reconciliation, seeing people of all ages to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
To make disciples by teaching and encouraging Christians to mobilize people with the teaching, sharing, and living out the gospel, so that we might fulfill the Great Commission both locally and globally. Matthew 28:18-20
