Dan Omadede

WDA Kenya

In 1985, at the age of fifteen, I received Christ as my personal Savior and Lord while in high school, in my second year, after two of my classmates shared and witnessed to me about Christ and the love of God for my life. About four months later, I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in a weekend spiritual rally, which later I realized gave me confidence and courage as I lived the Christian life.

About a year later, I became a Sunday school teacher in my local church, which again allowed me to grow and exercise to serve God even though I hadn’t any formal training to do so.

After high school, in 1989, I traveled to Nairobi, which is about eight hours from my rural home, to seek employment. This is when I joined a new church in the city of Nairobi, and in about two months, I was appointed and given responsibility, as an usher, a position I served until l became a pastor in November 2023.

During my pastoral work over the years, I also had an opportunity in short-term training, such as church planting, church administration and management, evangelism, and soul-winning.

In July 2025, something remarkable happened in my life. This is when I heard a voice speak to me, telling me to move out of Nairobi and come down to Nakuru for He has an assignment for me. I obeyed, although it was a moment in my life which again I won’t forget. However, today, I pastor a church called “Saints’ Redemption Mission” under Bishop Zablon ( he’s been a godly instrument in my life over the years) in one of the slums of Nakuru.

Through God’s dealings of providence, I was able to attend a WDA seminar in Nairobi in 2019, which was facilitated by Mary Mckeever then and her team, through an invitation by Bishop Zablon Mukoshi. It really dealt with me, and I developed so much interest in its programs. Today, I lead several WDA groups in Nakuru, which I find so exciting, especially when I see the many lives that are transformed and changed.

I am also involved in an interdenominational pastors’ movement in my city which brings together about 400 pastors from different churches, and the number is still growing. This is where we meet together for various forums aimed at building and strengthening the body of Christ. I am involved in the coordination department of the movement.

However, as a WDA staff member in my city and community, I will be working to represent the organization in achieving the main goal of disciple-building using its materials and tools. I will also be on the lookout for opportunities and network, and be ready to take them on, which will be a beneficial journey towards the accomplishment of WDA’s main mission and vision of disciple building.

I have chosen to work with WDA because of its uniqueness in many ways. Their approach in disciple-building, which I may describe as overlapping, practical, intentional, and so applicable. My own life and ministry have been a testimony of positive change of true growth, and by this, I hope to be a tool and a vessel in many others too through WDA. I am also very encouraged by the truthfulness of its staff, of the few I have been privileged to be in contact with, directly or indirectly.
